H.E. Mr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangkok, met and held discussions with Mr. Tawilap Ritthaphirom, President of the Islamic Bank of Thailand, on Monday, December 23, 2024. In this meeting, which was also attended by four vice presidents of the bank, namely the Vice President of Administration, Shariah, Finance, and Retail, the two sides discussed the possibility of creating a financial mechanism and exchanging views of banking experts from both sides to facilitate communication and negotiations between businesspeople of the two countries. The Islamic Bank of Thailand is one of the banks in Thailand that has banking activities based on Islamic principles, such as loans and business agreements (Qard al-Hasanah and Mudarabah). Another activity of the Islamic Bank of Thailand is to provide financial support for development projects in the southern provinces of Thailand, known as the "Deep south," near the border of Malaysia.
