On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Thailand, the 5th Round of Consular Consultations was held in Bangkok on 19 November 2025, presided by H.E. Mr. Mojtaba Shasati Karimi, Director-General of Consular Affairs of the MFA of the Islamic Republic of Iran and H.E Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA of the Kingdom of Thailand. The two sides discussed and exchanged views on consular issues, including but not limited to the possibility of visa nullification for holders of political passports, judicial cooperation, scientific and academic exchanges, as well as police cooperation particularly on combating narcotics.
