Ambassador Nassereddin Heidari, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), met with Madam Armida Alisjahbana, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Executive Secretary of the UNESCAP Commission, on May 14 2026, to discuss bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the UNESCAP Secretariat. During this meeting, the two sides emphasized on the importance of advancing joint projects, especially with regards to the Asia Pacific Center for Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM). Furthermore, both parties discussed and exchanged views on renewing cooperation frameworks in light of the developments resulting from the aggression imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
