Dr. Nassereddin Heidari, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Thailand and the Permanent Representative to United Nations Economic and Social Council for Asia and the Pacific, welcomed Dr. Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of the Department of Environment, and received her to coordinate the visit of the Islamic Republic of Iran's high-level delegation participating in the 9th Ministerial Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). It is worth noting that the 9th high-level meeting on environment and sustainable development for members of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific will be held from July 1 to 3, attended by ministers and high-ranking officials of member countries. Its main focus is strengthening regional cooperation to tackle common environmental and developmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, the sustainable management of natural resources, and mitigating the risks associated with natural disasters.
