Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao Peoples Democratic Republic

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, H.E. Dr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Thailand (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar), met and held discussions with H.E. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, in Vientiane.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on bilateral issues, including the development of trade and tourism relations between the two countries, the signing of a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports, efforts to introduce the potential of both countries to businesspeople and the private sector, and cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Lao People's Democratic Republic in multilateral organizations such as ASEAN and the Asia Cooperation Dialogue.
