Meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Lao Peoples Democratic Republic

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, H.E. Dr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Thailand (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar), met and held discussions with H.E. Sanya Praseuth, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, in Vientiane.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the need to increase interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries and the exchange of views between specialized committees of the parliaments, including the Foreign Affairs Committee, through parliamentary delegation exchanges and cooperation in international parliamentary organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. The Lao PDR side also mentioned the government's plan to hold the 10th National Assembly elections in 2026 and expressed its readiness and willingness to establish a joint parliamentary friendship group and to exchange visits.
