The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand

.

On Thursday 19 March 2026, His Excellency Mr. Heidari, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Thailand, met with Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. In this meeting, the Thai Foreign Minister said: The attack on Iran should not have happened and we invite all parties to reach a peaceful solution.

He asked Iran to help in the operation of rescuing the three crew members of Thai ship and towing the ship to the shores. He also asked about the conditions of passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz and asked about the current situation in the region. The Foreign Minister of Thailand appreciated Iran's actions for the safe departure of Thai nationals and their return to their country.

In response, Mr. Heidari explained the cruel and illegal aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran and said, According to Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, the Islamic Republic of Iran has a legitimate right to defend itself, and the countries of the region are also participating in this aggression by providing their territory to the United States to invade and attack Iran, and despite our fraternal neighborly relations with the countries of the southern Persian Gulf, we are forced to confront and defend ourselves.

Nine months apart, in the midst of negotiations between Iran and the United States through the mediation of Oman, the aggressors betrayed the negotiations and our country was attacked. Iran's patience and restraint have a limit and we must defend ourselves.

The goal of the hostile forces is regime change, the destruction of Iran and the disintegration of our country, and they have not refrained from committing any crime, including the assassination of the Supreme Leader of the country, and any other crime, including targeting the school of young girls in Minab and the infrastructure of Iran.

Regarding the rescue operation of the three crew members of the Mayuree Naree ship, which is now stranded in the internal waters of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran is coordinating with Oman to rescue the remaining crew and tow the ship, but in the current situation and the blind bombing of our coasts by the United States and the Zionist regime, this operation is difficult. It was recommended that the Thai Navy coordinate with the Oman Coast Guard and finally with the Iranian Coast Guard through the Oman Navy.
